It’s okay if you’re not psyched to be ‘back to school.’ Autumn isn’t for everyone. But here are some ways you can make it better.
This is episode 19 and this week I’m talking to Sherilyn from @HomeEdHereAndNow. We talk about shifting into a mindset where you don’t feel the need to prove yourself all the time. Sherilyn talks about running a business alongside home education, and we talk hands on maths and building community.
What does freedom mean when you have taken on the direct responsibility of your children’s education?
…I had a spare notebook lying around, so I put it in the kitchen and that evening, I told everyone that this book was a Family Book and for everyone to use as they wanted to. There was no pressure to use it, no nagging, no spelling/grammar police, no rules!
I had to wonder if a scarcity mindset not only brought Screen Time to the forefront of their minds but also detracted from their ability to enjoy and appreciate the time they had.
